Research Area

The research in Zhang’s group focuses on the function of transporters and nuclear receptors in pharmacology and toxicology. The major projects include: 1) preclinical development of novel transporter/receptor-targeted drugs for metabolic diseases and cancer; 2) mechanistic study of drug(herb)-induced liver and intestine injuries; 3) regulatory mechanisms of genes involved in cell death and diseases.
