Global Engagement

The drive of SPST towards internationalization involves development of a globally recognized school of pharmaceutical science and technology, with high standards of professional communication, cooperation, student exchange, and visiting scholars. SPST is very active in this arena, having a number of international faculty, postdoctoral fellows, exchange students, from many different countries. In addition, students of SPST have many opportunities for going aboard during their students.

In the past year, SPST has had nearly one hundred international scholar visits, including Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt of Denmark, and Nobel Laureate, Aaron Ciechanover. In its efforts to build a global excellence consortium in pharmaceutical and materials chemistry, SPST already has established international collaboration with Sao Paulo University, Northwestern University, University of Zurich and ETHZ, Princeton University, University of California-Los Angeles, University of Southern California, University of Edinburgh, and University of Padova. In 2014, SPST was approved by the “Network of International Centers for Education in China(NICE IN CHINA)”, held by State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs and Ministry of Education, becoming 1 of 3 approved in the first round. This provides both financial and policy support for SPST.
