Brief biography of the speaker: Prof. Eiichi Nakamura is Molecular Technology Innovation Chair Professor, Office of the President and Department of Chemistry, the University of Tokyo. He currently serves as the Associate Editor for Journal of the American Chemical Society. 

Prof. Eiichi Nakamura received his Ph.D. degree from Tokyo Institute of Technology (Chemistry, 1977). He spent three years at Columbia University as Postdoctoral Research Associate. He then moved back to Tokyo Institute of Technology, where he built his research carrier for almost 25 years, as Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and Professor. He was also appointed as Adjunct Professor at Institute of Molecular Science in 1989 – 1991. In 1995, he moved to the University of Tokyo as Professor of Chemistry. He is also appointed for several important positions at the University of Tokyo, including Molecular Technology Innovation Chair Professor and a member of Office of the President.
