The Clark Research Group is interested Synthetic organic chemistry and the development of new synthetic methodology and total synthesis of natural products. His research topics include:

1. Total synthesis of complex bioactive natural product targets

2. Use of metal carbenoids in organic synthesis

3. Applications of ring-closing metathesis reactions in synthesis

4. Asymmetric oxidation and amination reactions

5. Biomimetic synthesis of alkaloids
