Prof. Yuchi invited as the chairman to host the special forum to celebrate the 50th anniversary for the discovery of calcium-induced calcium release in FAOPS Asia-Pacific Physiology Annual Conference
In March2019, Professor Michael Yuchi was invited as the chairman to participate in the FAOPS Asia-Pacific Physiology Annual Conference. Michael hosted a special forum to celebrate the 50thanniversary for the discovery of calcium-induced calcium release in muscle and gave an oral presentation.
FAOPS2019 was held in conjunction with the 96th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Physiological Society. The theme of this conference is "Life Philosophy: Functions and Mechanisms." More than 2,000 participants from Asian and Oceanic countries shared interest in all aspects of the physical sciences, including advanced research and transformational physiology. Nobel laureates Linda Buck,Yoshinori Ohsumi and TRP channel expertDavid Julius delivered plenary lectures.
Prof Michael Yuchi is a PhD supervisor in School of Pharmaceutical Science and Technology, Tianjin University, also Peiyang Scholar of Tianjin University. He set up his research group in SPST in Sep, 2016. The group focuses on the structural and functional studies of ion channels and other important drug targets. They have published two papers inNature Communications, and more than 20 papers in high-level journals, includingMol Cell, Structure, JCI Insight, Biochem J, JBC, IBMB, ACS Synth Biol, Cell Calcium, JCA, J Mol Cell Cardiol, Europace, Cell Research, FEBS J, Channels, Cellular Physiology and Biochemistry, etc.Their research, cited by top journals asCell, Nature, Science, Nature Communications,not only improvedour understanding of the molecular mechanisms of heart failure and insect ion channels, but also laid the foundation for the further research in the field.Prof. Yuchi is also a common reviewer for many journals, includingNature Communications, ACS catalysis, J Neurology, ACS Omega, Biochem Society Transactions.
