May 30th,2018,establishment ceremony of International Volunteers and Communication Association (called ‘IVCA’ for short)held in Building No.24. Mr.Dean Jay Siegel,Party secretary of SPST Feng Cuiling,Vice Dean Kim Baldridge,Vice Dean Zhang Ling,Vice Dean Zhou Yan,and Deputy Party Secretary Du Yunfei attended the ceremony.
After the hostess announced the official beginning of the whole ceremony,Cheng Yiting,the chairman of IVCA,gave the splendid working report of IVCA,which presented the detail conditions of this association to the guests including basic character,objective,functions,members and working scheme.
Dean Jay Siegel and Party secretary of SPST Feng Cuiling presented the appointment certificates to chairman and ministers of each department,meanwhile gave the congratulations and encouragement to association members.Then Mr.Dean Jay Siegel addressed the inspiring speech,which acted as the satisfactory ending of the establishment ceremony.He emphasized the importance of cooperation and dedication spirits via comparing volunteerism in eastern and western culture.Mr. Dean also showed appreciation and expectation for the future development of IVCA.He encouraged the students of Health Science Platform to actively be engaged in the international academic communication and voluntary work,accomplishing the professional self-improvement,promoting the further development of Health Science Platform.
What is worth mentioning is that,at the same time of the establish ceremony,volunteers of IVCA was providing the voluntary reception work for communicative project of CUHK(Chinese University of Hong Kong) synchronously.For sure,International Volunteers and Communication Association can definitely go a long way towards providing better academic environment and communication opportunities with the efforts from the whole stuff and the support given by SPST,which will propel the Health Science Platform!
