On April 26, 2019, PEIYANG Forum for Young Scholars-SPST was held in the Meeting Room 406 of Building No.24 of Tianjin University. Nine outstanding young scholars from Harvard Medical School, Johns Hopkins University, Dubingen University, Southwest Medical Center of Texas University, Lund University and other world-renowned universities attended this forum.
At the opening ceremony, Dean Jay Siegel of School of Pharmaceutical Science and Technology extended a warm welcome to the experts and scholars attending the meeting, and introduced the basic principles and procedures for introducing talents policy of the School of Pharmaceutical Science and Technology of Tianjin University. He said: ”This forum is not only for recruitment and job searching purpose, I also hope everyone could harvest partners and scientific research inspiration.”
Subsequently, the young scholars at the meeting conducted academic reports in turn. They expressed their view and had an in-depth exchange with members of the International Advisory Board on scientific issues. Experts and scholars also visited the Tianjin University History Hall on the sidelines of the meeting to learn about the long history and development of Tianjin University.
The panel of judges contain eight members of the International Advisory Board of School of Pharmaceutical Science and Technology, including Nobel laureate Professor Ada Yonath, Professor Christina Moberg, member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences, Professor Luisa De Cola, member of the German Academy of Sciences, and Professor Donald Hilvert, member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, etc.
The forum brought a feast of thought collision and interaction for young scholars and experts, and created an opportunity for teachers and students of the School of Pharmaceutical Science and Technology to contact cutting-edge science and obtain international horizons. It also provided the chance for the introduction of international high-level young teachers of School of Pharmaceutical Science and Technology.
