Delegation from Tianjin University’s School of Pharmaceutical Science and Technology Attended ISPOR Real-World Evidence Summit 2025 in Japan

From September 28 to 30, 2025, the Professional Society for Health Economics and Outcomes Research (ISPOR) Real-World Evidence (RWE) Summit 2025 was successfully held in Tokyo, Japan. Professor Wu Jing, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Pharmaceutical Science and Technology, Associate Professor He Xiaoning, Associate Research Fellow Xie Shitong, Postdoctoral Fellow Peng Nan, and PhD candidates Shao Rongjie and Fang Nan—all from the Department of Health Services and Pharmaceutical Administration—attended the conference.

Professor Wu Jing delivered a presentation titled “Harnessing RWD for Evidence-Based HTA in China: Data Source, Applications and Challenges” at the breakout session “Harnessing RWD for Evidence-Based HTA in Asia-Pacific: Data Challenges, Evolving Paradigms and Empirical Applications”.

Associate Professor He Xiaoning gave a presentation titled “Developing a Methodological Framework for Distributional Cost-Effectiveness Analysis in China” at the breakout session “Equity-Informative Real-World Evidence: Learning From Global Lessons and Exploring Future Initiatives”. Associate Research Fellow Xie Shitong delivered a presentation titled “A Paradigm Shift from Western to Asian Perspectives: The Development of the China Health Related Outcomes Measures–Generic Version (CHROME-G)” at the breakout session “Culture-Specific Health-Related Quality of Life Measurement: Is It Necessary for Asia?”.

Also, Professor Wu Jing was invited as a panelist at the summit’s plenary session titled “Building the Future: Advancing Real-World Evidence in Asia Pacific and Beyond.” Experts from China, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, and the Netherlands engaged in a roundtable discussion. Representing China, Professor Wu shared her perspective on the future of RWE in health economics and outcomes research, and discussed strategies to develop and optimize RWE for decision-making and clinical practice.
