SPST Holds New Semester Forum with International Students

On September 10, Xiuyun Liu, Dean of the School of Pharmaceutical Science and Technology (SPST), and Xin Mu, Vice Dean of SPST, held a new semester forum with over ten international student representatives from countries including Iran, Malaysia, India, and Pakistan, jointly welcoming the start of the new semester. The participating students encompassed various academic levels including undergraduate, master's, and doctoral programs.

During the forum, the international students actively shared their recent observations and personal experiences. The students expressed that Tianjin has always been a beautiful and livable city, and during the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit, the city became even more splendid, particularly the captivating scenery along both banks of the Haihe River, showcasing the image of an open and inclusive modern metropolis. Students from Iran and Pakistan excitedly mentioned feeling honored and joyful to witness the visit of their national leaders to the city where they are studying, fully reflecting China's philosophy of inclusivity, openness, and promoting common development. Sisters from Iran specifically shared their experiences of actively participating in cultural activities during the SCO summit, promoting Tianjin University, and fostering China-Iran friendship. They stated that through these exchange activities, they felt more profoundly the depth and warmth of people-to-people exchanges between China and other countries. Students also mentioned being deeply impressed by the September 3rd Military Parade, expressing sincere admiration for the strict discipline, majestic appearance of Chinese soldiers, and the modernization achievements of the Chinese military.

Liu Xiuyun stated that the successful hosting of the SCO meeting and the solemn holding of the military parade demonstrate China's stature as a major country and its development achievements. She emphasized that China consistently upholds the concept of building a community with a shared future for mankind, adheres to the principles of extensive consultation, joint contribution, and shared benefits, and is committed to creating more development opportunities for people around the world. She encouraged the students to cherish their study time at Tianjin University, strive to grow into professionals in the pharmaceutical field, not only contributing to scientific research progress but also becoming bridges promoting friendly exchanges and mutual learning between China and other countries.
Subsequently, Mu Xin talked with the international students regarding their study plans for the new semester. The students actively discussed topics including training initiatives at different educational stages and internship practices, offering suggestions for the School's talent cultivation work.

Coinciding with the approaching 25th anniversary of the founding of SPST, the international students also expressed their heartfelt wishes for the School's future success, anticipating continuous new brilliant achievements for SPST in the future. The entire forum concluded successfully in a warm, harmonious, and hopeful atmosphere.
